FIRST AID KITS:

For your home or auto, your first aid kit should be packaged in a sturdy weather-proof container. It should be clearly marked with a red cross or other easily recognized label. The kit should include, at the minimum, the following:

Rubber gloves.

Pocket mask.

Sterile gauze pads.
(Various widths, used in conjunction with gauze pads to help protect the wounds.)

Triangular bandages.
(Same as above.)

Scissors
(To help remove clothing from around the wounds.)

Honey.
(To use in diabetic emergencies.)

Pencil and paper.
(To record history information.)

List of phone #'s
(Doctor, family members, etc.)

Ipecac syrup.
(For use in poisonings.)

Band aids.
(For use with minor cuts and scratches.)

Other items to Consider:
Personal prescription medications, Aspirin or Tylenol, Mild antiseptic like Betadine.

The contents of the kit should be well organized in a sturdy, weather-proof container, for instance, a fishing tackle box or an army surplus ammo can.
